2020 was a difficult year for most of the world and things were no different for Junior University. But, thanks to several very special sponsors that believe in our history and the joy we bring to our community, we can survive until things are safe again.
We would like to offer our very special thanks to:
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians
The Mountain Family
The Varner Family
Junior University produces musical adaptations specifically designed for family audiences. Many of our productions have been created by local composer and writer, William R. Dixon. These productions have been enjoyed by thousands of Inland Empire Families for more than 55 years.
After many years at the Roosevelt Bowl in Perris Hill Park, it became necessary for us to find a new home for our performances. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the new San Manuel Performing Arts Center on the campus of Aquinas High School!
It's easy to get involved with JU. Come to auditions if you are a young performer, or send us a note if you have an interest in Music, Technical Theater, Costumes or MakeUp. We have a place for everyone!
INLAND EMPIRE THEATER COMMUNITY SAYS GOODBYE
On Sunday, July 15th, Patsy Dixon left our world to join her beloved husband William R (Billy) Dixon to begin their eternal life together. Patsy was the matriarch of Junior University and an original founder of the organization. Thousands of young performers in the Inland Empire were introduced for their very first audition by the gracious “Patsy”, and were forever captured by her charm, endless love and support. This loss will be felt in every aspect of Junior University, but it will serve as our guiding inspiration to ensure that the life’s work of Billy and Patsy Dixon will live on in the hearts of future generations.
